Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced an exciting lineup of international cricket fixtures for the West Indies team in 2024, featuring formidable opponents like South Africa, England, and Bangladesh. The series promises thrilling cricketing action across different formats, igniting the passion of fans and players alike.
Kicking off the action-packed schedule, the West Indies will host South Africa for three T20Is in May, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. The Proteas will then return in August for a captivating series comprising two Tests in Trinidad and Guyana, along with three T20Is, all set to dazzle the spectators in Trinidad.
In a testament to the West Indies’ allure as a cricketing destination, England will grace the Caribbean shores in late October 2024. The English side is scheduled to engage in a riveting contest, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is spread across iconic venues in Antigua, Barbados, and St Lucia.
Closing the home season with a flourish, the West Indies will lock horns with Bangladesh across two Tests in Antigua and Jamaica, followed by three ODIs in St. Kitts and three T20Is in St. Vincent in November-December 2024. This series promises to be a fitting finale, showcasing the competitive spirit and camaraderie between the two cricketing nations.
Expressing his excitement about the forthcoming series, CWI’s Chief Executive, Johnny Grave, emphasized the board’s commitment to hosting top-tier cricketing events across the region. He highlighted the ongoing developments at the National Stadium in Grenada and Windsor Park in Dominica, underscoring the board’s aspiration to return to these venues in 2025.
“We are delighted to announce our West Indies Men’s Home Series for the remainder of the year, welcoming South Africa, England, and Bangladesh to eight of our host countries in the West Indies, including Saint Vincent for the first time since 2012,” remarked Johnny Grave.
