Afghanistan to Host South Africa in Historic ODI Series

A new chapter in Afghanistan cricket is set to unfold as they prepare to host South Africa for their first-ever bilateral ODI series. The three-match series will be played in Sharjah from September 18 to 22, marking a significant milestone for the rapidly rising cricketing nation.

Afghanistan’s consistent performances in recent years, culminating in a semi-final finish at the T20 World Cup 2024, have elevated their status in world cricket. This series against South Africa offers them a golden opportunity to further showcase their talent on the international stage.

While not part of the original Future Tours Program (FTP), this series has been added to provide both teams with valuable match practice ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
