Afghanistan’s all-round cricketing stalwart, Mohammad Nabi, has announced his decision to retire from One-Day International (ODI) cricket after the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The 38-year-old made the announcement following Afghanistan’s recent ODI series win over Bangladesh. Nabi, who has been a pivotal figure in Afghanistan’s rise to prominence in international cricket, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent his country at the highest level.
“In my mind, from the last World Cup, I was already retired, but then we qualified for the Champions Trophy, and I felt it would be great to play in that tournament,” Nabi said. “God willing, after the Champions Trophy, we will say goodbye to the ODIs.”
