The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has requested a security consultant from the government to accompany the team during their upcoming tour of Pakistan.
Despite receiving assurances from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding state-level security, the BCB is taking no chances. The decision comes amid ongoing concerns about the security situation in Pakistan.
The two-match Test series is scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi in August, and the BCB believes a dedicated security consultant will provide an extra layer of protection for the team.
Prior to the Test series, Bangladesh A will play two four-day games and three 50-over matches in Islamabad as part of their tour preparations.
While the BCB has expressed confidence in the security arrangements made by Pakistan, the move to appoint a security consultant underscores the importance of player safety.
Do you think this is a necessary precaution given the circumstances?
