Morne Morkel Appointed as India’s New Bowling Coach

Former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel has been officially appointed as the new bowling coach of the Indian cricket team.

The announcement was made by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, confirming speculations that had been circulating for several weeks. Morkel’s association with India’s new head coach Gautam Gambhir, having worked together at the Lucknow Super Giants, played a significant role in his appointment.

Morkel brings a wealth of experience as a fast bowler and has already had coaching stints with the Lucknow Super Giants and the Pakistan cricket team. His first assignment as India’s bowling coach will be the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19.

The appointment of Morkel is seen as a crucial step in bolstering India’s fast bowling department, which has been a key area of focus for the team in recent times.
