Rishabh Pant Suspended, Axar Patel To Lead Delhi Capitals vs RCB

Experienced Indian all-rounder Axar Patel is poised to take the reins of Delhi Capitals in their crucial 13th group-stage encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday evening.

This unexpected leadership role comes as DC’s regular skipper Rishabh Pant faces a one-match suspension due to a slow over rate offence against Rajasthan Royals. Consequently, Pant’s absence will be felt keenly in Sunday’s clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, leaving the responsibility of leading the team on Axar Patel’s capable shoulders.

Known for his versatile skills both with bat and ball, Axar Patel brings a wealth of experience to the captaincy role. Pant’s stellar performances, both as a batter and a leader, will be missed, especially considering his impressive tally of 413 runs in 12 innings at a remarkable strike rate of 156.44.

With Pant sidelined, DC may turn to Prithvi Shaw to bolster their batting lineup for tomorrow’s clash. However, all eyes will be on Axar Patel, who has showcased remarkable form in the competition, accumulating 164 runs and claiming 10 wickets, playing a pivotal role in DC’s success so far.

Despite the setback, Delhi Capitals have found their rhythm lately, clinching victory in three out of their last four matches. With their sights set on securing another win, DC will be eager to strengthen their position in the playoffs race, under the astute leadership of Axar Patel.
