Former India opener WV Raman has suggested that the Indian team could benefit from the expertise of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar as a batting consultant for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Raman’s suggestion comes amidst concerns over India’s batting form, especially against the formidable Australian bowling attack. India’s recent performance in the Test series against New Zealand highlighted some vulnerabilities in their batting lineup.
“I think that #TeamIndia could benefit if they have the services of #Tendulkar as the batting consultant in their prep for the #BGT2025. Enough time between now and the 2nd test. Roping in consultants is rather common these days. Worth a thought?” Raman tweeted.
Tendulkar’s vast experience and knowledge of Australian conditions could be invaluable for the Indian team. His ability to adapt to different bowling attacks and his mental toughness could inspire the young Indian batsmen.
While it remains to be seen if the BCCI will consider Raman’s suggestion, the idea of having Tendulkar in a mentorship role is certainly intriguing. His presence could provide the Indian team with the extra edge they need to challenge Australia in their own backyard.
